DALLAS, Texas–Severe thunderstorms yesterday morning caused this tree to break like a twig. Heavy rains poured down in greater Dallas as it weighed down on this tree to break it in two covering both sides of the street at the 400 block of S Coppell Rd in the upscale Dallas suburb of Coppell.

The incident occurred in front of the home of world-renowned writer Mark Leach, the author of one of the world’s longest novels in English, Marienbad, My Love.

Traffic had to be diverted through side streets while cleanup crews picked up remnants of the fallen twig. Other drivers improvised by making use of the semicircle driveway to circumvent the roadblock.
