Family Court Judge in Fort Worth Gets Probation and a Fine for DWI

FORT WORTH, Texas – Recent reports state of a family court associate judge who has been sentenced to one year of probation as well as fined with $1,240.10 for drunk driving with an open container.

Furthermore, Judge Clifford Lee Bronson, 44 years old, from Fort Worth would also face 90 days in jail if he would ever violate this probation.

The stated conditions of his probation were not yet announced. Judge Bronson had been sentenced on September 14 in County Criminal Court No. 1 for which he pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while intoxicated with an open container.

He is an associate judge in Title IV-D Court No. 2 at the Family Law Center located in downtown Fort Worth. That same court hears cases which are related to child support.

Reporters were not able to contact Bronson for any comments; however a woman from his courtroom referred all questions to the judge’s attorney, Jerry Wood of Fort Worth. Yet, Mr. Wood did not return the telephone calls.

Judge Jeff Walker, the State District Judge of Fort Worth, an administrative judge for the region which oversees that court, had been out of the country and could not be reached for further information.

Bronson had been in the Family Court building on Monday, this according to deputies with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department.

On January 19, at around 12:30 a.m., a Saginaw police officer who was off-duty as well as his passenger reported that they saw a black Chevrolet pickup which was not able to stay in a single traffic lane as it went westbound on Camp Bowie in Fort Worth, police reports stated.

The said off-duty officer then followed the truck until it pulled over into a fast-food restaurant located in the 6700 block of Camp Bowie. The truck then fishtailed as it pulled out of the parking lot and went back onto Camp Bowie.

During that time, a Fort Worth patrol officer also happened to see the truck on Camp Bowie, which was moving across all lanes of traffic, this according to reports. The officer stopped the said pickup in the 6900 block of Camp Bowie.
